In a bold move to combat the rising tide of digital fraud, Agra Police has launched Operation Codebreak, a citywide initiative aimed at dismantling cybercriminal networks. The operation has already led to the arrest of four individuals and the filing of cases against 910 suspects across multiple police stations.
At the heart of this crackdown is the Pratibimb Portal, a GIS-based platform developed by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C). This advanced tool enables deep IP tracing, digital footprint mapping, and account link analysis—empowering law enforcement to track and disrupt phishing attacks, OTP frauds, UPI scams, and mule account operations.
What sets Operation Codebreak apart is its citizen-centric approach. Through online Cyber JanSunwai sessions, complainants are directly connected to the Cyber Cell, enabling faster account freezing and fraud resolution. The use of Kanban methodology ensures real-time coordination and transparency in handling digital arrests and financial scams.
Collaboration is key: Agra Police is working closely with banks, telecom providers, and inter-agency cyber units to recover funds and prevent further damage. DCP City Sonam Kumar emphasized the evolving nature of cybercrime and the need for technology-led policing to stay ahead of sophisticated fraudsters.
This initiative not only showcases the power of digital intelligence in law enforcement but also sets a precedent for proactive cybercrime prevention across India. As cyber threats grow more complex, Operation Codebreak stands as a model of innovation, agility, and public accountability.
